What’s the worst that could happen?

by ticketprinting on May 29, 2009

From our correspondents in far-flung locations such as Stoke-on-Trent, Merthyr Tydfil, the Mormaerdom of Mearns, and Rathfriland, we bring you the inconclusive list of event ticket mishaps. Names have been changed to protect the innocent. We would never, ever, call attention to the failings of our competitors.

4 Reasons to Print Your Event Tickets with the Industry Leader:

The perforations were just drawn in! Nicola J. writes, “For our yearly Black and White Gala [our organisation] decided to save money by ordering admission tickets from a questionable source. We thought we were ordering tickets with perforated stubs. We didn’t imagine there could be a difference in event tickets. Picture our chagrin, when the guests arrived, and the stubs simply wouldn’t detach easily. The perforations were just drawn in! Our volunteers had to resort to bending, tearing, and cutting tickets stubs. It was awful! The line backed up out the door and around the city centre! Never again will we sacrifice quality for cost.”

You never saw such a donnybrook! Charles P. writes, “Community theatre is meant to bring people together, but shoddy ticket printing nearly tore our community apart. Imagine, if you will, the brouhaha involved in tickets printed with non-sequential numbers. We never had any idea how many seats had sold or how many people to expect. One night we played to an empty house. The next night, we found we had sold two thousand seats, and our fire code permits only three hundred people in the audience. You never saw such a donnybrook! There was fighting in the aisles, in the footlights, in the orchestra pit. Next time, we will order our tickets from professionals and be assured of numbers we can count on!”

The dangers of substandard stapling Beth L. writes, “I still shudder at the memory of that dreadful night. We had ordered three thousand tickets to our parish’s summer festival, conveniently stapled into booklets of one hundred. But no sooner had [the administrator] opened the box, then she began screaming. The staple tips, rather than being folded neatly over themselves, came sticking out straight and sharpened to points, and within moments, our front office was covered in blood. Everyone who approached the tickets was maimed, and we all needed tetanus jabs. Needless to say, the summer festival was canceled and the children were devastated. Who knew the dangers of substandard stapling? This year, we shall have our tickets stapled by experts.”

We didn’t ask about card stock! James A. “It should have been a simple affair, just a small run of novelty tickets for my nephew’s birthday party. We didn’t ask about card stock. We didn’t think it mattered. Well, it did. Our tickets were printed on tissue-thin paper. In fact, they were printed on Kleenex. The dog sneezed once. Our entire investment was destroyed.”

So there you have it: the foibles of ordering event tickets from untrustworthy sources. But you can learn from others’ mistakes. Eliminate mishaps, missteps, and mistakes! Don’t let these common problems plague your event. When you order from UK Ticket Printing, you know you’re ordering satisfaction and tickets held to a higher standard.

In Living Colour

by ticketprinting on April 24, 2009

The choice is up to you: we may take it for granted, but the ability to create massive print runs of coloured images is one of the miracles of the modern world. How far have we come in a hundred years? For a few pence, you can print something as simple as an event ticket with an image as complex as a renaissance painting. Indeed, for a few pence, you can reproduce the painting itself.

There is something to be said for black and white printing. As inexpensive as colour printing is, black and white is cheaper still. And there exists a shadowy aesthetic to black and white, or grey scale, something artistic and romantic, historical and sophisticated. Perhaps black and white event tickets are for you.

On the other hand, there’s glorious technicolour! Eye-catching spectra! Dazzling, rainbow possibilities. Today’s technology allows for photo-quality reproduction in a small format. You can choose from hundreds of full-colour designs for any occasion. You can even choose your own images, uploaded in thumbnail as an element of another design, or, if you choose to print custom tickets, cropped to become the background of your own unique ticket.

Have you a favourite photograph, one which expresses perfectly the nature of your organisation? In our digital era, such images are easy to come by and just as easy to reproduce. You are limited only by the scope of your own imagination. (And if that is lacking, you can expand your horizons to the scope of the imagination of a talented designer!) Whatever your idea, it can become reality in a few keystrokes.

Looking smart in print is well within your grasp. Full colour tickets with full bleed printing draw that colour all the way to the edge of the ticket. Or, you can choose a white border to make those coloured images stand out even more. The choice is entirely up to you!

If you’re printing Event Tickets in the UK, you can have exactly what you want. Illuminate your efforts with bold, beautiful colour printing.

Site Launch Update

by ticketprinting on March 31, 2009

I won’t make myself look like a fool by making promises I can’t keep. I know the new site shall be launched soon, but I shan’t say how soon. The date has been changed more times than Becks’ hairstyle! But April seems like a likely date.

Printing your own Event Tickets will be easier than ever once our new site goes live. Quite simply, you will be able to browse the gallery or search for designs by keyword. Do you prefer a colourful Event Kit? A ticket celebrating a particular date? Complete publicity for an event tied to a specific region of the UK? You will find it easily when you enter your search terms into the site’s search box.

Once you’ve selected the design, you can easily decide which elements of the Event Kit best suit your needs. Would you prefer to send Postcards on their own, or invitations, which can be enclosed with other materials in the envelope? Perhaps you need both. And would you prefer a larger Poster or a smaller Flier? You can decided how many Event Tickets you may need, what type of card stock on which to print them, and whether or not the booklets must be stapled together.

Entering the name of your organisation, the date, time, and price of the event, along with other details, ought to be a snap. And if you choose a design that allows image upload, our new site makes it easy! You can add any image file from your computer to ours, with the click of a mouse. It’s no different than attaching a file to an email!

Once you’re satisfied with your proofs, our new site calculates the cost of the order and helps you through checkout. Your tickets will be printed in twenty-four hours and shipped right to your door.

That’s simply all there is to it! I promise I shall post the moment we’re certain of the launch date, and you can start printing your own Event Tickets anywhere in the UK!

Beta at last!

by ticketprinting on March 12, 2009

I’m looking at the new site for UK Ticket Printing and the new site looks spectacular! The home page is lovely and easy to navigate with all the links you may need; the product pages each feature a clear, sharp image of the ticket design so you can really see what you’re buying. We’re counting down the days before we launch.

Printing your own Event Tickets is almost too simple with the new website. Anyone from any organisation can create professional General Admission Tickets as well as Reserved Seating Tickets and VIP Passes with a minimum of key strokes (and for fewer pounds than you might think). Brilliant, posh-looking tickets are available to the smallest theatres and clubs in the UK, at a price anyone can afford.

Here’s a quick glance at some of the Event Kit products available:

  • Admission Tickets
  • Raffle Tickets
  • Drink Tickets
  • VIP Passes
  • Posters and Fliers
  • Invitations

In addition, you can find great business solutions:

  • Gift Certificates
  • Gift Cards
  • Coupons

And, if you want a peek into the future, here’s the insider scoop on upcoming products:

  • Postcards
  • T-shirts

But please do keep it under your hat. I shouldn’t go telling tales out of school, after all. I do promise to keep you updated about the launch and thenceforth on all the great new products and features we’ll be offering.

Does this ticket make my organization look fat?

by ticketprinting on February 26, 2009

What’s in your event? If you’re like me, it’s your heart and soul. Whatever the reason for your gathering–conviviality, charity, social issues–you care deeply about the group that is to gather. You want everyone to feel comfortable. You want everyone to have as much fun as they can, or to be as productive as possible. You want things to run smoothly. You know that your events reflect on you. You want them to reflect well.

I pay attention to detail. That’s why I choose to print my own professional, affordable Event Kits. My General Admission Tickets, Reserved Seating Tickets, and VIP Passes have to look great. They speak to the success of my event before I open the doors, and I care that they speak well. That’s what I love about matching Event Kits selected for their beauty and relevance to my affair. They create a lovely and enviable sense of anticipation well in advance of the party. I can even find posters, fliers, invitations, and more publicity materials in the same design.

My tickets set the stage for my events. Yours can too. It’s easy to do a search for relevant keywords. Christmas? Hip Hop? Classic Cars? You can find what you’re looking for, and if you can’t find it, you can use your own images to create the perfect ticket, either with our DIY tool or by choosing to have a talented designer put the ticket together for you. It’s almost too easy. You may find yourself planning galas well in advance when you see all your options. You can print the right ticket faster than you can blog about it!

Who said event planning had to be a burden? Put the fun back into fund raising (or conferences and conventions, or huge social gatherings, or small, intimate theatre) with fantastic tickets for every occasion.

Keep it together

by ticketprinting on February 11, 2009

Consider the staple: a lowly scrap of metal with two right angles built into it. Just a piece of stiff wire, waiting to be folded around a stack of paper. In the Middle Ages, the staple had slightly different shape–more like a U–and you had to pound it in by hand. The modern age brought us the stapler, which uses leverage and makes it all the easier to bend the staple’s legs, and then the electronic version, which requires almost no effort at all.

What has any of this to do with tickets? Well, it may not have occurred to you that staples can help organize anything, including your tickets. With just the click of a button, you can turn a stack of loose tickets into neat and orderly ticket booklets. Just pull a single ticket away from the stack as you sell individual seats, leaving the rest of the tickets clean and sharp.

If you’re selling general admission seating, there’s no need to keep your tickets separated. Why not save the hassle of spills and losses by having your tickets stapled into booklets?

It’s easier to split booklets among your sales team, keep track of sales, and mobilize event sales with stapled ticket booklets. You can tell at a glance how many tickets you’ve sold, how many remain. You can slip booklets into a pocket or bad without any fear that those tickets will get away from you or become crushed at the bottom. Booklet stapling when you print your own tickets is just a smart idea for the smart business owner. You choose booklet stapling and our machines will take care of the rest.

So let’s hear three cheers for the lowly staple: keeping human lives together for hundreds of years.

By the Numbers

by ticketprinting on February 1, 2009

It’s just a little thing: Individual numbering on General Admission Tickets for events. You probably don’t notice those digits at all, but they’re more than mere decoration. Those numerals are there to protect you.

Securely numbered tickets help prevent ticket fraud. If every ticket has a unique number, simply copying one ticket becomes fraught with peril. It’s much easier to detect fraud when you know the range of numbers on your tickets. In fact, you can choose the range. If you want to start at 5,847, that’s your business, even if your range will only go up to 5,897. In any case, if someone shows up with ticket number 0005, you can be sure it’s a fake!

You can go even further, reserving certain groups of numbers for certain groups of people. Then you’ll have an even better idea of who is coming through the door. It should be easy to determine whether a ticket holder is entitled to that ticket!

When you print your own event tickets, you want to take every step to ensure the safety and security of your event and your patrons. Unique tickets with interesting designs and secure numbering help you accomplish just that.

Some events require reserved seating, and you can certainly print custom tickets, one for each seat in your auditorium, but perhaps you are hosting some other type of event:

  • Outdoor concert
  • Festival seating
  • Charity fund raiser
  • School dance
  • Private party

You won’t have a one-to-one correlation between seats and tickets. You’ll want to check at the door to take make sure each ticket is genuine. Printing your own event tickets with individual numbering helps you do just that.

Secure numbering is just one of the many benefits of using beautiful ticket templates to create your own event and general admission tickets online. You can count on it!

The ubiquitous stub

by ticketprinting on January 28, 2009

It’s never a rip-off!Most good event tickets come with a perforated ticket stub, which detaches easily to keep patrons moving through the door. Your ticket taker must stay sharp on her feet. There may be a crowd of eager folks queued up for entry at the door of the theatre or disco. They want to come inside and enjoy the show, and you want them to come inside, but you can’t afford any mistakes, either.

When you print distinctive tickets, your door person can take a quick glance to ascertain that the tickets he’s been handed are genuine. Then what does he do? He rips off the stub and hands it back to the patron. You keep the body of the ticket. You may use this for accounting purposes; it can ensure an accurate headcount for your event. The stub goes back into the patron’s hand.

Then what?

  • If you’ve chosen reserved seating, that stub tells the usher where to seat each individual
  • Resolved disputes with ease
  • Ticket stubs allow patrons to exit and re-enter the venue without confusion or hand stamps
  • Gate crashers without ticket stubs are easily identified
  • A pretty ticket stub remains a nice souvenir of a lovely evening

Most ticket stubs are 2 inches long: small enough to slip into a pocket, and large enough to dig out later on. Most ticket stubs are printed with a unique and identifiable design. Most ticket stubs are perforated so a quick flip of the wrist is all it takes to admit one.

It’s the little things that make our lives easier. Let’s hear it for ticket stubs!
